| The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) combines the excitement of sports with science and technology to create a unique varsity sport for the mind. FRC helps high school students discover the rewarding and engaging process of innovation and engineering. The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe. Teams build robots from a standard set of parts and enter them in competitions designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers and a committee of engineering professionals. |
The East Lake High School Robotics Program is in its 10th year as part of the FIRST robotics competition. East Lake is a certified Project Lead the Way high school and recently earned the status as an Academy of Engineering in Pinellas County, FL. The school is home to FIRST Team 79, a five-time Regional Chairman's Award winner as well as a holder of many other accolades.
East Lake Robotics, along with its many partners, is dedicated to increasing the awareness of educational programs and activities that promote science and technology within the Tampa Bay community.
